Several Cosmics are heading over to the west coast, Applecross area to participate in the cycling sportive 'Bealach Beag' starting from Sheildaig. This arduous cycle is 43 miles (70k) long, 6,200ft (1900m) of ascent and goes over the highest road climb at 2053ft (626m) in just 6 miles (10k). I am heading over to Applecross next weekend for the Belach bike ride. Any advice on getting up the hill greatly appreciated. Do you think a compact chainset will do?
Whats the best place to stay around there?
